The New York City Marble Cemetery

Directions

Please be aware that the Cemetery is generally closed to the public. If you wish to visit apart from one of our published Open Days, please make arrangements with the office well ahead of time.

By taxi:

The New York City Marble Cemetery grounds are located on Second Street, between Second and First Avenues.

By subway:

Take the F train to the 2nd Avenue–Lower East Side station. Walk uptown two blocks to 2nd Street, then turn right (if you are on Second Avenue), or turn left (if you are on First Avenue), and the Cemetery will be halfway down the block.
– or –

Take the 6 train to the Bleecker Street station. Walk East on Bleecker Street (the same direction as the traffic) to Bowery. Cross Bowery, turn left, and then take the first right onto Second Street. Go a block and a half and the Cemetery will be on your left.

By bus:

The M15 bus runs up First Avenue and down Second Avenue. Click on the NYC Transit web site for more details.

By car:

We strongly suggest taking one of the public transportation options listed above. Driving in Manhattan is very challenging, and on-street parking can be difficult to find and expensive. If you do need to travel by automobile, the closest off-street parking garage is at 11 East First Street, or you can search here or here.
